U.S. Army Materiel Command showcases equipment, capabilities at annual AUSA meeting

WASHINGTON (PRWEB) October 2, 2005

The U.S. Army Materiel Command will showcase key initiatives and equipment that increase survivability, sustainability and improve the quality of life at the Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting and Exposition Oct. 3 through 5 in Booth 706 at the Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C.

AMC’s exhibit will feature several systems including:

Uniformed System for Improved Tariffs: AMC’s electronic tailor is a 3-D body scanner that gives an accurate body measurement and recommends sizes, providing Soldiers with better fitting uniforms faster.

FIDO Explosives Detector: Small enough to fit in your hand, the electronic detector provides each Warfighter the capabilities of an explosive sniffing dog, without the limitations of live dogs.

101st Airborne Air Assault Squad Truck: Ceramic armor and offensive weapons systems mean enhanced protection and greater lethality while retaining the flexibility Soldiers need in today’s combat environment.

New HMMWV Safety Systems: These newly designed safety features from AMC’s R&D facilities will increase Soldiers’ survivability: headset/microphone system for vehicle crew; quick-release, three-point seat belts; a harness to secure .50 cal gunner in firing position; and a fire suppression system.

Combat Feeding: Feeding Soldiers in the field has been a challenge since the Revolutionary War. See and taste what U.S. Soldiers have been eating through the years.

Subject matter experts will be available to answer questions and conduct interviews.
