What Minnesota animal could have made two pinpoint marks on my dog, and cause serious bleeding?

Question by Mitch Brooks: What Minnesota animal could have made two pinpoint marks on my dog, and cause serious bleeding?
My dog came in this morning after being out for the night, with most of her side covered in blood. After washing her and looking her over, I found two tiny marks, kind of like a spider bite, but about an inch apart, and the skin around the “bite” was bare in about a 3″x 4″ patch. I live in Northern Minnesota, and it’s winter right now, so I have no idea what could have done this. Any ideas?

Geez, I don’t know – HOW ABOUT YOU ASK HER VET!!!
Hint: little animals of the forest aren’t vaccinated against rabies, which you can also get.

It’s a 6-7 month old Pomeranian.
I meant bleeding as a result of being in heat.
