Renowned Etiquette Expert & Author of Woofs to the Wise Mary M. Mitchell to Hold Book Signing at Olde Towne Pet Resort Springfield on December 11th

Woofs to the Wise Book Signing Event at Olde Towne Pet Resort Springfield

(PRWEB) November 29, 2012

Respected etiquette expert and author of nine books, Mary M. Mitchell has penned a new book, Woofs to the Wise: Learning to Lick at Life and Chew on Civility. According to Mitchell, the odyssey in the book begins when Nessa, a woman from Philadelphia, visits her best friend, Mary, in Seattle. The two women hit it off, but are very different in their personalities. Mary’s patience and humor are tested, and she confides in her six-year old French Bulldog, ZsaZsa Pooch, to speak for her.

In addition to the newly published Woofs to the Wise, Seattle-based Mitchell writes a column for Reuters and has appeared on a variety of network talk shows, including a weekly commentary on the Comcast network. Mitchell is also author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Etiquette as well as Class Acts: How Good Manners Create Good Relationships and Good Relationships Create Good Business.

Mitchell’s popular column, Ms. Demeanor, originated in The Philadelphia Inquirer where it ran twice weekly for ten years. The Seattle Times also ran Mitchell’s column, Nice Matters, for many years as well.

“I’ve known Mary for years,” shares Dixie Eng, General Manager for Olde Towne Pet Resort’s (OTPR) Springfield location. “In addition to being a cherished, longtime friend, Mary is the authority on civility and all things etiquette. She was the protégé of the late American etiquette expert Letitia Baldrige who was best known for serving as Jacqueline Kennedy’s Social Secretary in the 1960s. In fact, Mary’s book Woofs to the Wise was the last book Ms. Baldrige personally endorsed shortly before her passing this year. I am very honored to have also endorsed Woofs to the Wise and am incredibly excited to host a book signing event at our Springfield facility.”

The Woofs to the Wise book signing is a free, dog-friendly event in Northern Virginia and will be held at OTPR’s Springfield pet resort at 8101 Alban Road, Springfield, Virginia 22150 on Tuesday, December 11 from 5-7 pm.

Culinary dog chef Kevyn Mathews, aka The Dog Chef, will also be on hand with canine holiday treats. Pet parents can enjoy hot mulled apple cider and light hors d’oeuvres. Profits from the book go to The Philadelphia Foundation for arts education of middle school children.
