Premier Dog Obedience Training Relocates to Kamloops, BC

Kamloops, BC (PRWEB) December 15, 2011

Premier Dog Obedience Training has recently relocated from coastal British Columbia to the city of Kamloops in the Thompson Okanagan region of the province.

With a stated mission “to assist dog owners in establishing happy, harmonious and rewarding relationships with their dogs, thus helping to break the cycle of behavioural issues, abandonment and surrenders that have become so prevalent today” Premier Dog Obedience Training provides three general areas of service.

1. Dog Obedience Training

2. Dog Behavioural Modification

3. Mastering The Walk

Premier Dog Obedience Training is headed up by Andrew Thomas, an accredited companion dog trainer and behavioural consultant.

Explaining the impetus for starting the company, Thomas explains, “There is literally an epidemic of behavioural issues leading to dogs being given up on, abandoned, surrendered and euthanized. It was just too distressing and I knew I couldn’t stand on the sidelines any longer so I decided to gain professional accreditation as a trainer and behavioural consultant, and then launch my company.”

When asked to describe the dog training philosophy and technique he brings to the Kamloops region, Thomas offers a two part answer. “There are a variety of beliefs, methods and tools employed in the world of dog training and all can have varying degrees of success. My personal philosophy is to maintain an open-minded approach to methods and techniques so I can work with my clients – both human and canine – in the most positive and effective manner possible based on their individual needs. In addition, I believe it’s vitally important for the training to be an enjoyable, positive and rewarding experience for both the dog and the owner, because it’s that very enjoyment and willingness that leads to motivation and success!”

There’s more to Thomas’ philosophy about dogs other than basic care and obedience training. “I believe that having a happy, healthy and well-balanced dog takes more than just food, water and pats on the head.” He continues, “There is also your dog’s physical health to take into consideration, mental stimulation, and fair and consistent leadership.

By fulfilling the full range of your dog’s fundamental needs you’ll be well on your way to having the happy, healthy and well-balanced dog of your dreams. I’m excited to be providing dog training in Kamloops and am ready to provide local dog owners with the skills that will take them down the path to success with their dogs.”
