Frank & Stein, Dachshund Guard Dogs are Back to Sing “Hollow Wiener Dogs,” at The Greenwich Village Halloween Parade Bandstand in New York City

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 24, 2010

With just days before the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, it has been reported that two Dachshund guard dogs, Frank & Stein, have been roaming the streets protecting New Yorkers from evil spirits and Soho ghouls. They have been spotted singing “Hollow Wiener Dogs,” a song written for them that celebrates them as canine folk heros. Released in 2009, “Hollow Wiener dogs” was written and recorded by Lovenotes Records artist, songwriter and performer Murray Weinstock with his group, Furry Murray & The Bow Wow Babes.

Recently spotted hovering outside of Puffy’s Tavern in lower Manhattan, the Dachshunds, Frank & Stein, have been checking on ghost sightings that have upset adults, dogs and children alike. Clad in a pork-pie hat, Frank is a hefty 15 pound smooth Dachshund with one scar on his left leg and Stein is a tough wire-haired Dachshund with a bit of an Irish brogue in his bark. There is nothing to worry about so long as “Stein & Frank come to bite and bark!” And as the song says, “Hollow Wiener Dogs, guarding us at night, Hollow Wiener Dogs, showing teeth so bright, No goblin’s safe from the beastly bite of Hollow Wiener Dogs, till the morning light!”
